About Us
|
The Gunrunner Fine Firearms & Auction Co. is located in Burton, Ohio at the
northeast corner of the state near the Pennsylvania and New York state lines. We
are 40 miles due east of Cleveland, right in the middle of Old Order Amish
country. The Gunrunner is an old fashioned gun shop which sits on the corner of
the business district next to the park. We usually keep an inventory of 700 or
more guns of all types in the store (and more in storage). We specialize in
Belgium Brownings, Winchester levers, German Weatherbys, fine double guns, Colt
Single Actions, Military weapons, etc. as well as scores of good hunting
guns/collectibles. Realize that we have FAR more firearms than what is displayed
on this website. Some days we get as many as 200 collectible guns. Call for your
wants and we can tell you what came in on any given day. Please remember: With
the volume of fine firearms coming into our store, we can NOT keep up with the
website, so call with your specific request. Sometimes we have dozens of the
same model of firearm you are seeking.
Should you want to visit our store please bring the entire family. Burton and
the nearby town of Middlefield all provide excellent restaurants, shops with
Amish crafts and goods, nice motels, beautiful scenery and antique stores for
the entire family. It’s the "good country life" here!
Scott Weber, the owner and operator, has been involved with guns for over 45
years. He shot ATA trap all over the country for more than 20 years, was a
factory direct rep with Beretta USA for a number of years and has been a hunter
all of his life. Scott is a graduate of the University of Wyoming, and attended
Ohio State University and Capital Law School. For 12 years he was a high school
English and Journalism teacher in Wyoming and Ohio. For many years he was a big
game guide out of Casper, Laramie and Cody, Wyoming.
Another unique aspect of the Gunrunner is the fact that we auction online
hundreds of guns of all types from high grade double guns to military weapons
such as Garands and Carbines to big game rifles - we have now done over 25
auctions - each has been a great success! If you are interested in placing your
guns in our firearms auctions, please call Scott at (440)834-0160. If you would
like to bid in these gun auctions, please drop us an e-mail with your mailing
address, and we will send you a reminder each time we have an auction. We
advertise the auctions in Gun List, Shotgun News, Antique Weekly, Farm and
Dairy, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, etc. and here on this web site. Just go to
"Auctions" on this site and you can learn all about the auctioning aspect of The
Gunrunner.
We do accept firearms for consignment (fee is 15%), and we can sell your guns
quickly with our network of dealers, online auctions or on this web site. Please
call with your needs. We have references from some of the largest gun collectors
in the northeast Ohio/PA/NY area. You may also see our A+++ feedback average on
Gunbroker.com by going to "View Feedback" and typing in "The Gunrunner". Yes, we
travel to big collections, or we can arrange to have your firearms shipped to us
for auction or consignment.
You will find The Gunrunner to be a different type of gun store. We are NICE,
learned, and always willing to talk at length with you. We are hunters, guides,
collectors, competitive shooters - WE HAVE BEEN THERE. All of The Gunrunner
employees are shooters/collectors/hunters - we LOVE guns and the people who
collect them. We sure look forward to talking with you about your needs!
