Winchester Model 1894 Carbine, .30 WCF cal. lever action. Serial #119929, mfg. 1898. Very good condition. Here is rare variation of the '94 with lots of special order features: Button half-magazine, two-leaf folding rear sight, barrel band, 20" round barrel and shotgun butt. 90% blue on barrel, receiver has some blue in protected areas. Very good shiny bore. Tight action. Walnut stock has nice swirls for figure and is nice and smooth with only a few marks. Winchester marked original hard buttplate on shotgun style butt - a rare feature this early. Also rare is the half-magazine for this early of a '94. Neat one! A Cody factory letter is included which lists the half-magazine, shotgun butt and "no sling ring" as well as .30 WCF and "Carbine" configuration. The Cody letter indicates the gun was serialed on August 6, 1901 (which makes it transferrable via C&R or FFL), but Madis' serial number range shows the rifle was actually produced in 1898. This was a western gun - Wyoming and Colorado and shows some wear from a scabbard. Very unique and certainly will enhance any Winchester lever collection! Great little gun! C&R OK.
