Winchester Model 70 Custom, .220 Swift cal. bolt action rifle. Serial #48935, mfg. 1941. Beautiful custom pre-64 Winchester Model 70 as gunsmithed by the former Cleveland Custom Gun who built super rifles during the 1960's and 1970's here in Cleveland, Ohio. Their rifles looked much like the modern Weatherby's with fancy wood, rosewood forearms and pistol grip caps, skip-line checkering and high swept combs. This specimen is right in keeping with the CCG tradition with select striped American walnut, flat forearm and 26" custom medium weight barrel. Excellent bore. CCG recoil pad. Upswept comb for scope use. Wood is smooth and nice. Bluing is 99%. Older "wing" safety. Wears a Redfield 12 x scope (missing on turret cap) and engraved scope rings. Redfield one piece base. The ultimate varminter! Should group them in tight and the .220 Swift is a proven coyote and sod poodle buster! Great rifle! C&R OK.
