Springfield Sporter, .30-06 cal. bolt action rifle. Serial #1248094. Very nice vintage sporter created from a U.S. Springfield Model 1903 military rifle. Military open sights were removed and a sporting ramp type front sight was installed and a Redfield adjustable peep. 24" military barrel has excellent shiny bore. A Bishop black walnut straight-grained stock with checkering and white spacer accent at pistol grip cap was utilized. Looks like a very accurate meat rifle for this fall! U.S. markings on chamber ring. C&R OK.
