Winchester Model 1886, .38-56 WCF cal. lever action rifle. Serial #81698, mfg. 1900. Good condition. Nice '86 with 26" octagon barrel. Mostly a gray gun - some flashes of blue in protected areas of barrel - with some areas on barrel now going to a smooth patina. Special order set-trigger with travel screw - operates by pushing the trigger forward to set. Wood has a toe repair and the varnish in this area is gone. Cresent butt. Buckhorn sights. Two holes in left side of receiver where a special-order swing-arm Lyman Model 21 receiver sight was once mounted. Bore is fair to good with good rifling, but some light pit areas - should throw a soft lead slug fine. Tight action. Vivid barrel address and caliber markings. Great gun! C&R OK.
