Colt Model 1862 Police Conversion, .38 cal. rimfire single action revolver. Serial #912. Antique. Very interesting small pocket framed cartridge conversion 4 1/2" gun with matching serial numbers. Nice smooth patina on barrel/cylinder/frame and brass trigger guard and grip straps. Walnut grips have some erosion/shrinkage at the butt with wear. Does not index correctly, but hammer cocks. Fluted cylinders. Ejector rod and loading gates. Five-shot. Bore has some light pitting. Barrel address is as follows: "Address Col. SamL Colt New-York USA America". These conversions are very nicely crafted and make great pieces to collect. This nice specimen was discovered in a Cleveland attic. Very pleasing looking! Antique.
