A call to Cody indicated that this rifle left the factory as a 26" takedown, but was not engraved. No records as to return to factory for engraving. Engraving is very much like Winchester factory engraving with running and standing deer on circular panels on either side of receiver. Scrolling on entire receiver plates. Floral checkering on wrist and forearm. Very nice wood with striping and burl in buttstock. Case-colored hammer and lever. Cresent buttplate. Folding leaf rear sight. Takedown lever at muzzle. Absolutely beautiful piece! Antique.
